I busted my ass in this class ‘cuz I wanted to finish off my Biochem degree with a bang. It’s invigorating to know hard work really pays off in the long run. There were a lot of times when I questioned whether this major was right for me. I feel like Biochemistry is more for people trying to work in industry or biotech companies—things I never really imagined myself doing because sitting at a lab bench and doing research seemed less appealing to me compared to direct patient care. But at least after taking this class, I know that if I ever decide I do want to go down that career path, I’ll be able to handle it.

You never know what you’re capable of until you push yourself. And maybe options you initially thought weren’t meant for you may start looking pretty appealing. Keep an open mind.
